Long Time…

You may have noticed that I haven’t really done any updates in awhile. There’s a good reason for that! Okay, it may not be a “good” reason, but it’s still a reason. Honestly, IĀ  haven’t really worked much on Ardua lately. I’ve been busy with my cross-stitching, the holidays, and trying to be a better housekeeper. That may not sound like much, but all that combined, at least with me, makes for a very busy Lore Master.

I’m thinking I may try and carve out at least one night a week where I do some sort of writing, and that includes working on Ardua. I just have so many ideas with it, that it’s hard to put them all down in a logical sense that’s good enough to upload on here. Also, my scanner died, so there’s no way for me to scan any of my maps into the computer. I might try and take some pictures, but I am in the process of buying a printer/copier/scanner, so we’ll see how that works.

So that’s what going on around here. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks I’ll have some new stuff for you guys. šŸ™‚

Alrighty folks, been awhile since my last update. Got bogged down with some stuff here on the home front, but never fear! I update the races with two new races: the half-orcs and the elocs. You can find them underneath the “Races” drop-down menu.

As soon as I get a working scanner, I’m hoping to upload my maps that I’ve drawn up, but I’m having some issues uploading pictures right now, so we’ll see how that all turns out. *fingers crossed*

More Races

So I got a few more races up for your enjoyment. Welcome the gnomes, halflings, half-elves, orcs, and dwarves. I still have a few more to do, but I’m having a bit of difficulty writing up some of them. I’m not really keeping a strict updating schedule, I’m just going to update whenever I have enough written up to warrant an update.

Well? What are you waiting for? Why don’t you go check out the new races and ooh and aah over them, hmm?

Alright, so I’ve gotten some information on some of the races done. So far the only information up is just some general outlines of humans and all the sub-races of the elves. To see these additions, hover your mouse over the “Races” link on the top of this page, and from there you can either click on “Races” and see what all races live on Ardua, or you can click on “Humans” or “Elves” to read more about the races and sub-races.

I’m still working on writing up all the races and sub-races. I still have quite a few more to do before I move on. I really want to get a good idea of what each one of their cultures will be like (like who decorates their beards more in the dwarven culture: men or women?)

I’m also running into the question of if I should capitalize all the races’ names (like Elf) or not (so it would be “elf”). I’ve seen it done both ways, so I’m just curious which way you guys out there prefer. I go back and forth. One would think that it would be a proper noun, but we don’t capitalize the word “human”. Feel free to leave me a comment and lemme know what you prefer or what you do in your own writing.

Well, that’s all for now. I’m hoping to have quite a few more races written up for the next update. šŸ™‚

Welcome to Ardua

Hello and welcome to Aruda. What is Ardua, you may ask. Well, Aruda is a world I have been creating for the past 9 or so years. It’s been an on-again off-again process.

So, why create a blog about it? I’m hoping that by doing this, I’ll be more motivated to work on it from time to time. Most of these initial posts will be maps I’ve drawn up and snippets of things I’ve had written down for years. I would love feedback or just random encouragement. šŸ™‚

Hope you enjoy what I’ll be posting and the world that’s been stuck in my imagination for years.
